Song Of My Life

My Little Prayer by David Archuleta is my number one favorite song. When I first heard this song it really resonated with me. His voice is just heavenly and the lyrics, as cheesy as it may sound, just touched my heart and soul.

I don’t know about you guys, but the song was like telling the story of my life. It made me cry a little and yet made me smile as well. I felt the love and faith that he has with God.

“Sometimes I am afraid,

And I know that's lacking faith

But I'm beginning to understand,

That for me you have a plan”

“I'm learning everyday

That I won't always have my way”

“I am learning to be patient,

And that you are really there

There are answers I'm receiving

No, they're not always immediate

Sometimes I have felt a feeling,

That's when I kneel down in prayer

You show me you hear my prayer

I'm amazed by how you care,

Cause you hear

My little prayer”

These lines are so powerful and really hit me hard. The lyrics are simply written and direct to the point, but it was so deep and meaningful to me.

There was a time in my life that I was battling depression that almost took my life (this is for another story). During those times, I didn’t understand the purpose of my life and I was questioning my worth and HIM. It was a long, hard battle; it was torture. But at the end, I was a victor, and I have a new perspective in life and my faith in HIM is stronger than before. That is why this song, My Little Prayer by David Archuleta, really is the song of my life. This song is a reflection of what I’ve learned in my life after my battle with depression and my faith. Also, I think anyone can relate with this song, no matter what your religion is and what you believe in.

I saw posts of people saying how a certain song saved his/her life; or how a certain song can get them through their lives. And I think it’s because some of us feels alone and can’t voice their struggles and pain, but with music, it’s like someone can hear their pain and at the same time, give them encouragements and empower them.

I love how music tells a story, especially the artist’s story, but can be anything to different people. For me, music is like a reminder to myself but also a companion.

How about you? What is music to you? Do you have a song/s of your life? What are your favorite songs? Comment them down below.

Love,

Kristine
